Sustainable Infrastructure Program: Engineering, Cost and Carbon Library consultation

online engagement

Overview

On Monday 28 October we launched a consultation process on our Engineering, Cost and Carbon Library (ECCL). It is an Australian-first library of over 4,000 construction resources that defines baseline carbon.

You can watch a recording of the session here.

The ECCL sets a clear benchmarking structure for cost and carbon aligned to international standards.

It includes plant, labour, materials and fuels and will support industry to have a clear, consistent and easily-understandable register of the carbon impact of their projects. It is aligned to cost management and engineering design.

As a component of the Transport for NSW Common Data Model (CDM) for Infrastructure, we believe the ECCL will save industry significant time and resources through design, tendering and project reporting, streamlining carbon estimation to align with existing processes.

We are inviting industry to provide their feedback on this Australian-first library.

The ECCL is part of our Sustainable Infrastructure Program, which is streamlining and driving decarbonisation and circularity on transport infrastructure projects.
